MTurk Forums

There are two main MTurk forums, Turker Nation and MTurk Forum (links can be found below).  Both serve their purpose well and there is no reason why you cannot join both of them, if you wish.  You can communicate with the MTurk community and keep up to date with what is happening.  For instance, you can sometimes find out useful info such as which MTurk requesters have a bad reputation.  You can also use them just to socialize and have fun.  Both these MTurk forums are ‘unofficial’ in that they are not run or administrated by Amazon, and they are run very much from an MTurk worker perspective.

MTurk forums are generally a fantastic source of information for beginners and experienced MTurk workers alike.  I never cease to learn from them and they are awesome free resources.  People new to MTurk (aka known as Mechanical Turk or Mech Turk) might find them especially useful.  To join, you just need to register for free, get yourself a username and a password, read the rules and away you go!

(I believe that Amazon do have an official forum but it is for MTurk software developers, not MTurk workers.)

Turker Nation

The Turker Nation Mturk forum can be found at http://turkernation.com  It is efficiently administrated by the firm but fair, Spamgirl.  It’s always pretty vibrant there in my experience and there is a tremendous wealth of Mech Turk news, information and opinion in the discussion threads.

MTurk Forum

The appropriately named(!) MTurk Forum can be found at http://www.mturkforum.com  The site has a simple and easy layout, but it is not usually quite as lively as Turker Nation in my experience.  It serves its purpose well, however, with plenty of discussion threads.  I don’t know who the administrator of MTurk Forum is, unfortunately.  (Please feel free to introduce yourself if you’re out there?)

  5. Sorry, but that's an issue for Turker Nation, I can't really help you on that. Maybe they are just having some techno troubles?

  9. TurkerNation has become a Nazi regime only concerned with driving traffic to the site. Long time, very experienced turkers and owners of sites turkers rely on are being turned away from the private sections of the forum for "too few posts." The desired post count is not disclosed and anyone who questions the rules is severely ridiculed.

mTurkforum.com is where most of the displaced turkers end up after they've been banned or disgusted by the behavior at TurkerNation. I've found it to be a pleasant, helpful place.

    1. I've not been to either of the forums recently. It sounds like there's rumblings of discontent in some quarters!

    2. I agree with the above comment. I was "banned for life" for asking a question. The Turk Forum is a much more useful place... no contest.

  10. Tukernation is very well known as the most disgusting vile forum for anyone who wants to find anything out about mturk. Its a waste haven for trolls and garbage posts about peoples dog shit. Turknation is the Waste departments answer to a forum a GARBAGE DUMP!

Mturkforum.com hosts the best forum possible :D

  11. I myself just tried to log into turkernation and found myself banned! I have only posted to the forums 1 time a long time ago and visit occasionally to see what's up but it's been awhile. I guess I haven't met their status quo. What a crock! What gives her the right?

    1. Do you know why you were banned? It is probably a good idea to address that issue? Otherwise, you will end up getting banned again, even with a new ip...

  15. I am a member of both forums, and the quality of posts on Turkernation is much more intelligent. Mturk forum is very rudimentary - most of the posts are "Why wuz I suspnd plz help My work is does good qwality". There is a reason people get banned from the forum, and the same reason they get banned from mturk by Amazon.

I am a worker from India and I have been working on the amazon hits for quite some time now. Off late, i observe that the cheques from Singapore are getting delayed. Earlier i would receive them within 9-10 days but now it has crossed 15 days. Does anyone know what could be the reason ? Please advice
